Position Description
Qualify and cultivate current and prospective donors at the leadership annual giving level to identify donor interests and solicit meaningful gifts. Collaborate with Major Gift Officers to cultivate, solicit and steward prospects and donors while adhering to the prospect management system. Work is performed under moderate supervision with latitude for initiative.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Assist with donor engagement and cultivation as member of the external fundraising team.
  • Build and maintain relationships with major donors through calls, regular communication, personal visits, and meaningful engagement opportunities.
  • Manage a portfolio of 75 qualified major gift prospects.
    • Identify additional prospects for potential major gift capacity and interest.
  • Manage a portfolio of 75 qualified annual prospects.
  • Discovery work to qualify, cultivate and solicit individuals capable of making leadership annual giving gifts.
  • High volume of daily touchpoints (email, phone calls and visits) to help identify and engage leadership-level donors.
  • Develop and implement retention strategies to upgrade donors.
  • Participate in execution of events and programs in support of fundraising activities.
  • Other responsibilities include assisting with event hospitality, providing customer service (tickets and parking) to donors in portfolios when needed, and donor facility tours.
  • Work closely with the Associate Director on individual booster activity.


Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree plus one year related experience; OR a combination of education and/or related experience equal to five years.

Preferred Qualifications
  • One or more years of professional fundraising experience
  • Previous experience working in intercollegiate or professional athletics.
  • Knowledge of fundraising.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively as part of a team.
  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Valid driver's license and two-year driving record acceptable to the university.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
