Job Description

The Assistant Director, Athletics Stewardship will report to the Director of Development for Athletics. S/he will be responsible for creating and executing individualized stewardship plans, including experiences and events, for major donors to Athletics with the goal of positioning donors and prospects for increased future philanthropic commitments.

S/he will work closely with the Director of Athletics, Athletics Fundraisers, coaches and University Advancement partners to personally manage the individualized stewardship of key funds and gifts at all levels, creating unique experiences and meaningful communications for high potential prospects and donors supporting endowment, capital projects and other priorities. These experiences and celebrations will take place both surrounding, and independent of, athletics contests. S/he will work collaboratively with the University Advancement office's Stewardship and Donor Engagement team and Programs and Events team. In addition to stewarding gifts to Athletics, s/he will develop and send all impact reports to those donors with endowed funds, or current-use Athletics scholarships.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated strong project and event management skills. S/he will also be able to think creatively, create unique events and experiences, and design and implement effective donor recognition and stewardship strategies. S/he should be comfortable interacting with the University's most generous donors and highest potential prospects. S/he should be nimble and accepting of projects outside the immediate scope of this description.

Hiring Range: Salary commensurate with relevant experience:

Assistant Director level 1: $46,550 - $58,200
Assistant Director level 2: $56,700 - $70,900

Requirements

This position requires a bachelor's degree.

The Assistant Director Level 1: Minimum of one year of event planning, stewardship, or fundraising experience, preferably in a college Athletics setting or the equivalent level of experience in other non-profit or for-profit environments where event management and stewardship is critical

The Assistant Director Level 2: Minimum of three years of event planning, stewardship, or fundraising experience, preferably in a college Athletics setting or the equivalent level of experience in other non-profit or for-profit environments where event management and stewardship is critical

Must be a team player who is highly motivated and dedicated to the goals of advancing higher education and college athletics. An appreciation for Jesuit Catholic education and the goals and values of Boston College is critical. Adherence to Boston College and NCAA rules and regulations is required.
