Job Description
Assumes responsibility for the oversight of the Department of Athletics communications functions, directing all public information activities for the University of Hartford's Athletics programs. Serves as a member of the Athletics team. Assumes responsibility for adherence to rules and regulations governing University, conference, and NCAA DIII, including assisting in the education process extended to alumni and the community. Will demonstrate awareness and commitment to DIII philosophy. Performs all duties in full support of the University's mission, understanding that the positive and effective execution of these duties are instrumental to the education of the University's students.

Description of Key Responsibility: Develops, implements and oversees short and long-term media relations strategies and plans for Athletic events in an effort to ensure the dissemination of information regarding all varsity sports programs. Designs, edits, produces and distributes sports information through media guides, game programs and other appropriate publications. Identifies and utilizes multiple platforms of communication to promote University sports programs including, but not limited to, press releases, social media, internet sites, computer transmissions, mailings and personal contacts.nbsp; Maximizes opportunities to use Communications as a vital recruitment tool.

Description of Key Responsibility: Provides oversight to the sports information function, managing the department within the framework of a balanced budget. Provides management, guidance, training and evaluation to department staff.

Description of Key Responsibility: Oversees the facilitation of game day coverage including, but not limited to, producing game notes and/or programs, servicing on-site media, compiling statistics as well as reporting results to the appropriate media outlets. Recruits, trains and supervises game day statistics crew and staff. Travels with designated teams, serving as the information contact as necessary and/or appropriate.nbsp;

Description of Key Responsibility: Establishes, cultivates and maintains effective working relationships with members of the media to generate stories that highlight the achievements of Athletics, its student-athletes and the Department in general. Coordinates all television, radio, and media broadcast activities for the Department of Athletics. Serves as an information contact for Conferences, NCAA and other collegiate sports information offices.

Description of Key Responsibility: Generates and executes promotional plans for student-athlete recognition. Assigns photographers and oversees the maintenance of photo files. Directs the research, development and maintenance of career/season records, statistics and general archival information for all Hartford student-athletes and associated sports programs.

Description of Key Responsibility: Works closely with the Office of Marketing and Communication to ensure consistent use of the Universitys brand identity. Maintains awareness of trends in communication and social media. Maintains the Department of Athletics website in compliance with departmental and University web policies as well as established data integrity standards.

Formal Education:
Bachelors Degree required.

Work Experience:
