Purpose of Position
Directs, coordinates, and implements major gift initiatives and caries a portfolio for The University of Texas at El Paso's (UTEP) Department of Athletics.

Essential Functions
Planning, implementing, and directing major gift initiatives including, but not limited to, the El Dorado and Scholarship Society, capital campaigns, and planned/estate gifts.

Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward prospective donors to UTEP Athletics. Carry a portfolio of an agreed upon number of donors while making an assigned number of personal visits and work towards defined goals of proposals submitted and dollars raised.

Foster positive, long-lasting relationships through individual contact and tactical touch points with donors that generate five figure multi-year gifts to support UTEP Athletics.

Work together with athletic senior staff, coaches, student-athletes, and other relevant personnel to support the departmental fundraising needs.

Collaborate across campus with the Office of Institutional Advancement to strategize, enhance relationships and create greater fundraising outcomes on major gifts prospects.

Attendance at athletic contests and donor events, including work on nights and weekends

Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems to include The Raiser's Edge and Archtics Ticketing software.

Complies with all State and University policies.

Other duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's objectives, policies and applicable laws. Applicant will oversee one full time professional.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree

Expert working knowledge of all aspects of fundraising, donor relations, and public relations concepts, principles, procedures, and techniques for a Division I Athletic Department. Thorough knowledge of the NCAA rules, guidelines, and principles as they influence university fundraising. Four years minimum experience working in collegiate athletics or fundraising in higher education. Ability to use a relational donor database system.

Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in an applicable area
