Job Description

The University of Nevada Athletics department is recruiting for an Assistant Athletic Director, Equipment and Inventory. This position manages and oversees all areas of the Intercollegiate Athletics (ICA) equipment room to include the forecasting and ordering of equipment needs, allocation, procurement and receipt, maintenance, repair, replacement, proper handling and safe keeping of equipment assets for all ICA sponsored sports. The position develops and implements policies and procedures to maintain an accurate electronic inventory system and manages all safety aspects of player equipment. The position manages and monitors equipment budget expenditures and works to maintain professional relationship with all vendors. The incumbent provides support for the equipment needs of all of ICA sponsored sports, plans and prepares for equipment setup and takedown for practices and contests as needed, and coordinates with visiting teams to coordinate pre-game and game-day activities pertaining to equipment needs.

The Assistant Athletic Director trains and manages all equipment room staff including full-time assistants, temporary staff, and student workers. This position may be required to travel evening and weekends. This position primarily supports Men's Basketball.

Required Qualifications

High School Graduation with four (4) years of related work experience; Or an Associate's Degree with three (3) years of related work experience; Or a Bachelor's Degree with two (2) years of related work experience; Or a Master's Degree with one (1) year of related work experience.

Related Experience: Experience working as an athletic equipment and/or inventory manager in an equipment room in professional sports or at an NCAA institution; budget oversight and supervision of staff.

Certification and Licensure: Certified Athletic Equipment Manager (AEMA)

Schedule Requirements

Frequent travel; Variable work schedule including evenings/weekends.

Grants-in-aid
