Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Executive Associate Director, the Assistant Athletic Director for Graphic Design and Social Media plays a pivotal role in developing and executing strategic communications plans that enhance the visibility of Fordham Athletics while supporting the department's storytelling, brand, and fan engagement goals.

The Assistant Director creates, directs, manages & executes the graphic design and day-to-day social media content of the Fordham athletic program. This position is responsible for the development and implementation of social media and digital content strategies, including the generation of high-quality creative content to engage the Athletics fan base. This position is also responsible for the continuous process of improving and adopting new communications and engagement strategies as appropriate.

In addition to creative leadership, the Assistant Director is responsible for recruiting, mentoring, and managing a dynamic team of student staff, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

This position may require occasional evening, weekend, and some holiday work hours.



Essential Functions
Plans, develops, and directs the athletic department's creative services, including graphics and digital content (e.g., photography and video), in order to amplify Fordham Athletics and engage a broad range of external audiences.
Creates social media graphics for game days, wins, milestones, awards, and other key moments that celebrate team and individual achievements.
Collaborates with each team to support and grow their individual social media accounts, with a focus on audience development and increased recognition.
Designs within Fordham Athletics' brand standards to produce graphics that support fan engagement, recruiting, brand awareness, and revenue generation.
Oversees department photography and videography efforts, ensuring high-quality creative content is captured, organized, and maintained, including the management of the INFLCR platform.
Collaborates with Digital, Production, and Fan Experience to develop and implement exciting graphic design initiatives to increase social media engagement with fans and recruits on a national level.
Translates creative concepts into effective visual assets that align with departmental strategy and support social media growth and engagement goals.
Creates and maintains dynamic content that strategically enhances the Athletics brand in external communications. Ensure a consistent image and identification with the brand across all communications efforts.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience across a wide range of creative projects, from social campaigns to video thumbnails to recruiting materials, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Demonstrated strong illustration skills to create visuals that support storytelling in editorial, marketing, and branded content initiatives.
Knowledge of NCAA rules.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Express, and Premiere Pro).
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Exhibit meticulous attention to detail; ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and manage several projects at one time.
Must be able to work independently and self-manage project flow.
Team player with ability to work well in a team setting and across diverse groups, organizations, and departments.
Must be able to meet stringent deadlines.
