Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
To serve as an assistant in all processes of daily operations for varying activities within the PE Facility for Physical Education, Athletics, and PE-CES, including assisting all PE staff and coaches in daily duties for the PE and Athletic departments. Assist the Athletic Director and Assistant Athletic Director in all management operations.

  • Assist with all assigned events in PE facility; including competitions, PE classes, internal and external rentals, and practice/game fields and aquatics center in multi-use facility.
  • Assist with all game contests for all sports including game-day setup/dismantle, various game table operations, and additional operational duties.
  • Assist Equipment Manager in all daily operations of equipment room, including inventory, distribution, management, and collections of player's equipment.
  • Assist all PE/Athletic staff and coaches in daily duties as assigned, including offices, classes, practices, games, and possible CES activities.
  • Act as lead in the absence of Manager for all home events, including supervision of all assigned staff.
  • Assist in supervision and scheduling of student workers and part-time temp employees, as assigned.
  • As needed, assist in repairs and maintenance concerns related to usage of the PE Facility and equipment including Arena, storage areas, and outside fields.
  • Assist with NJCAA athletic eligibility, Concur, and equipment budgets.
  • Assist with year-end reconciliation and collecting of information for the Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA).
  • Assist in implementing PE/Athletic policies for use, coverage, and security of facilities including assisting in liability risk management for assigned events.
  • Other related duties as assigned.


  • Qualifications:

    • Education
      • High School Diploma required.
      • Associates Degree preferred.
    • Experience
      • One year athletic department operations experience required.
      • Knowledge of athletic sports, PE equipment, and sporting event processes and procedures required.
      • Some experience in setups/dismantles and operation of athletic events at game level and other non-sporting events in a multi-purpose facility required.
      • Experience operating sports equipment, managing or assisting with events, and working with people required.
      • Knowledge of general office procedures and MS Office software required.


    Working Conditions:

  • Employee must be willing to work varying hours (nights and weekends). Internal and external work required.
  • Physical work is required.
  • May require work in inclement weather, ticket sales and cash handling, handling of dirty equipment, and travel with sports teams.
  • Working with various maintenance tools and electronic equipment, including sound system and computerized scoreboard consoles.
  • This position requires a background check and drug screen.


  • Hiring Range:
    Classified 8 Hourly/17.50 - 19.50

    Competitive starting pay is dependent on education and experience.
